President's Statement
Objectives of the Pediatric Society of Queens
· Represent the Pediatric members of Queens, New York at the local, chapter, district, and national levels of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
· Advocate for the positive physical, mental and social health and welfare of infants, children, adolescents and young adults.
· Promote friendship and unity among pediatricians, residents, medical students, and other health care professionals.
· Provide and promote Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programs.
· Discuss relevant legislative, scientific, social and economic issues affecting children’s health.
What is the value of joining the Pediatric Society of Queens?
· Advocacy on a wide variety of regional, local and state issues impacting children and pediatricians in NYS
· Leadership, mentoring and networking opportunities, including committee participation
· Educational opportunities and resources, such as CME meetings, conferences, and e-news.
Yearly PSQ events are held from July 1st – June 30th at which time we discuss academic, legislative, and practice-related topics of interest. These meetings may be sponsored by hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, or other organizations. Networking with colleagues, the opportunity to join and represent various committees in the Society and great dinners are just a few benefits of membership.
